8. Westfall and thesis: Westfall divided the 2 forms of protestantism into the religion of order and the religion of experience.

Religion of order: was based on the bible and its relationship to man in general, it is very true to the clerical authority and very systematic. anglicans, puritans

Religion of experience: was basedon the inidividuals relationship with god, and allowed that experience to define who the individual is. wuskers, methodists

9. Carles Inglis: He was the first Anglican bishop of Nova Scotia and wass appointed in order to combat the trend of evangelicalism in British North America. Inglis believes religion should be a supporting force together with the government. Both involve order and obedience, which the evangels don't have.

10. Henry Alline: was an 18th century preacher, and much more who had a knack for public speaking, very charismatic guy. He concetrated on the individual's personal spiritual relationship with god, sudden conversions and he hated calvanists or was against it atleast. Alline also directly opposed Inglis' view of clerical authority reserved for only those that are qualified to "speak" to god, he wanted everybody to willingly experience god on their own will and he believed anybody was allowed to "speak" directly to god if they chose too. Inglis' fear was that Alline's style of religion would lead to rebellion politically because this type of religion had no structure or order and no consquences or disobedience.
